For many years, Miss Yolanda and her two daughters shared a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment in a neighborhood where she did not feel her family had the security they deserved. Yolanda spent hours commuting to her full-time job, leaving her with far less time to spend with the girls she was determined to give a better life.
She dreamed of a home with enough space for her family, a safer neighborhood, and greater opportunities for her daughters. When her sister, a Bay Area Habitat homeowner in Dickinson, shared how much her own Habitat home had changed her life, Yolanda was encouraged to apply.
Now, as the holiday season approaches, Yolanda is preparing to make lifelong memories with her daughters in their new safe, stable, and healthy home.
